Private Reading Tutoring (Private Reading Tutoring)
Dear Students and Families, I am a 2010 graduate from Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA. I received my B.S. in Elementary Education and Spanish, and am certified to teach kindergarten through 6th grade. During my four years of college, I worked as a preschool assistant and tutored college students in Spanish and pre-calculus. In addition to student-teaching in a 5th grade classroom, I taught English to 1st and 3rd graders while I was abroad in Seville, Spain. I have also worked with children in a less formal setting as an art instructor and member of the camp management team for the past four summers. I would welcome the opportunity to provide supplemental instruction in elementary subjects and/ or Spanish. Please allow me to help guide your student through a successful learning experience!

I am Debbie. I am a 48 yr. old stay at home mom for the moment with a 14 yr. old son. I retired in May 2010 as an elementary education teacher at Flowers Elementary School. I taught all grades. The last grade I taught was 6th grade. I taught for 26 yrs. I taught total program which means I taught everything from reading, math, science, social studies, history, Alabama History, vocabulary, language, spelling, writing, and reading and math preparation for the SAT and ARMT testing. My specialty is reading and math. I have attended countless hours of reading training, as well as math training. I even attended a Reading Academy to learn basic and advanced knowledge of teaching reading and the language arts. I was under strict regulations because of the No Child Left Behind Act. My reading coach was highly complementary of my teaching and even sent new teachers to observe me to see how the reading and language arts programs were to be taught.
